Limited edition!

Tonight at Fourth Wall Project Gallery
5-11pm

“ARTCRANK is a show of bicycle-inspired poster artwork that introduces people to talented local artists and sends them home with affordable, original works of art. Since our 2007 debut in Minneapolis, we’ve held shows in bike-lovin’ cities like Portland, San Francisco, New York, Austin, Los Angeles and London. This year, we’ll visit 14 cities in three countries, including our first show in Boston.”

The show is getting a ton of great press!

I was mentioned in The Boston Globe:

“…Q. Who are some of the Boston artists?

A. Keith Zoo, an illustrator, does wild comic-book style that I think will translate well in a bike poster. Sarah Gay, who’s also an illustrator, has a completely different style, more realistic but with an amazing warmth to it. We don’t try to have the same style for all the posters.”

The show has also been featured on BostonInno, The Dig, Bike Safe Boston & Hubway!

BostonInno’s write-up is pretty fantastic:

“Custom art is a valuable commodity. It’s prized and pined for and, often, priceless: In short, it’s wholly unobtainable for anyone without a corner office or a three-car garage. But just because you lack a baller bank account doesn’t mean your apartment walls should continue to suffer from the shameful weight of dog-eared Led Zeppelin posters and “Live, Love, Laugh” wall decals.

There is a better way. And it’s rolling in to Boston this Saturday.

ARTCRANK Boston is a bike-themed poster art show featuring limited edition, original pieces by a variety of artists.

The posters will sell for $40 and will be signed and numbered by the artists. SponsorsWidmer Brothers BrewingClif BarNeenah Paper and Livable Streets will help the show cruise along. Pint glasses can be bought and brought home for $5. A nice pint glass is a piece of art in itself.

I just so happen to be fond of cycling, craft beer, and cool custom wall art, so this event is kind of a no-brainer for me. But even if biking isn’t your thing, it’s a timeless piece of Americana, and something that lends itself incredibly well to universally appealing art. And at $40 a pop, you’re not likely to find better art for less anywhere else.

If you’re thinking of swinging by — and you should — the event is taking place Saturday, July 20 (one night only), at 5 p.m. at Four Wall Project, 132 Brookline Ave.

For a list of participating artists, some photos of past events, and more info, check out the ARTCRANK website.”
